About

My passion for dogs and how their minds work started 5 years ago after taking on two rescues from Spain. I soon realised that life with one dog with behavioural issues gets pretty complicated and stressful, let alone two.

Both Stan and Lucy came with various issues which means I can fully empathise with owners and understand the emotional toll it can take on you as the owner.

In some rare cases, people get lucky and find themselves with a genetically and emotionally well rounded dog. For the rest of us, owning a dog is far from the easy journey you thought it would be and it means having the right knowledge and putting in the work.

Training my dogs through various failed methods and trainers forced me to continue my research into the various training methods and tools out there in the hope that one day, I would see some progress. It forced me to become open-minded towards the tools and training methods out there and I was finally seeing progress.

I have now worked with and completed mentorship programmes with professional dog trainers in the UK.

I also found myself in a position where I didn’t feel I was able to use the services of a dog walker/sitter due to the training and progress I had made and this is where structured dog walking and walk and train sessions come in, as they will be fully tailored to your dog and it’s emotional and behavioural needs.

I enjoy observing what makes each dog different and tailoring my practices to suit their individual needs. It's this commitment to understanding and empowering every dog, to reach their full potential that drives me to provide the best possible care and training for your canine companion.

The K9 Approach

What makes K9 different.

In the dog world (which is an unregulated industry) there is a lot of incorrect and confusing information out there which makes things difficult for you, as a pet owner, especially for a first time owner. We, as human beings can anthropomorphise our dogs (attribute human characteristics or behaviours onto our dogs) and can accidentally create unwanted behaviours or state of minds with our dogs. Whether you are rescuing or adopting a puppy, set yourself up for success and book in to set solid foundations and build a relationship based on trust, confidence and clear communication between you and your canine companion.

Why Choose K9 Cornwall?

🐾 Balanced Approach: I have learnt from some of the best balanced dog trainers in the industry and it is scientifically proven that a balanced approach to training ensures a clear understanding between you and your dog to create a well-rounded, balanced and happy dog.

🐾 Tailored Training: No two dogs are the same, and both our training and walking services reflect this. Each session is customised to suit your dog's distinct personality and behavioural requirements.

🐾 Building Connections: Our ultimate goal is to strengthen the bond between you and your dog. Primarily I want to build engagement between you and your dog so you become relevant to them and to help them navigate our big and confusing world.
